Process

 

The students are directed in the editing of their website on the server. Mac 10.3 server allows each student account to broadcast a webpage from their sites folder. There is a default index.html file that can be edited by Microsoft Word. This begins very simply by simple editing of text. The students are reminded of various techniques of word useful in making websites.

 

  • Changing the background
  • Using the formatting pallette.
  • Inserting a picture.

 

The students also were instructed in how to download a picture from the internet, and how to save a picture using the GIMP. These two picture aquisition techniques can be used for greater control over the pictures in student projects. The internet site was school.eb.com , the online presence of The Encyclopedia Brittanica.
