Microsoft Excel: Spreadsheets

Stage 1

The students were introduced to the concept of spreadsheets. The Lab Administator created a simple spreadsheet showing each student, and their preference for a predetermined color. A pie graph was premade as well, so that the students could see how adding or subtracting data in the spreadsheet would affect the pie chart. The results of the favorite color of the class were investigated, and then the class observed what would happen to the chart if the least popular color was hypothetically given 100 votes. This demonstration provided a way to talk about percentages and voting.

Stage 2
